The Topper squads are training groups formed coordinated and managed by the ISA & RYA.
In general they are our best sailors and the one's showing the most potential for the future.
Notice to all Topper Sailors
Hi To All Topper Sailors,
This year the ISA have decided to set up a Topper Leinster Squad in conjunction with the Irish Topper Association. We have 2 coaching weekends set up this side of Christmas and another 2 before the ISA Nationals at Easter. The Topper Association is holding Open Training on the first of these weekends, on the 3rd and 4th of November in Blessington Sailing Club where the Leinster squad will be picked for the following sessions. The Topper Association proposes to run Open Training on the same subsequent weekends as the Leinster Squad , using the same venue as the squad where possible. The other weekends will be 1/2 December, 16/17 February, 9/10 March. Our main coach for the weekend will be Alan Ruigrok.
This coaching weekend is open to all Topper sailors and is a great chance for club sailors to get some top coaching and a good chance to get on to the ISA Topper Leinster Squad.
Sailors attending need to have their boats rigged for 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. They don’t have to be changed into their sailing gear but they do need to be ready for briefing at 10.30 a.m. sharp
Please bring your own lunch. Can you also bring running gear as you might be brought for a run.
The intended finishing time will be around 4.30 pm each day. The cost for the weekend is €50. Any sailor who can only do 1 day the cost will be €30. Any Sailors interested can they please contact me by email in case we need to call off the coaching due to the weather or any unforeseen. circumstances.
Regards
Peter Dolan

The RYA Topper Squad
The purpose of the RYA NI Junior Squad Programme is to develop young sailors and facilitate those who wish to go into the GBR or IRL National Junior Squad Programmes.
The RYANI Junior Squad delivers a comprehensive range of coaching, training, off-water workshops and competition guidance to 16-18 selected sailors, alongside the open training programme and each sailor's individual club programme. The NI Performance Manager oversees the squad programmes, working closely with their Home Country Coaches.
Selection for the Squad takes place in the Autumn of each year, based on criteria set annually.
