The  World Championships are being held in Lake Garda, Italy 21-27 August 2010. A small number of Toppers may be available to hire, but last year the Irish competitors used their own boats at the Worlds in Austria. They  used the services of Alex Storrar at Meditrans, a UK-based transport company to transport the Toppers, and then the sailors and their families flew over, saving time and money! This worked out very well and was much more cost-efffective, and time-effective, than driving/towing the boats. Alex Storrer is providing the same service this year for approximately similar costs - depending on how many travel. Many of the Uk sailors use this service. All the Toppers (sails,spars,foils and a kit-bag each) are loaded onto a transporter and driven to the venue.  Last year, it cost £285 return -  UK to Austria and back again. In addition, there was the cost of transporting the boats from Ireland to the UK, but this was also done as a group, at freight rates. It would also be useful to contact a committee member if you are considering transporting your boat, as it may be possible to coordinate a group transport from Ireland to the UK depot (numbers permitting) .
